RESOLUTION
THE WISE COUNTY REPUBLICANS ON MARCH 30, 2009 UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION
WE, THE WISE COUNTY REPUBLICANS, HERBY RESOLVE THAT FINDING NO MERIT IN ANY CHARGES BROUGHT AGAINST JEFF FREDRICK, CHAIRMAN OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OF VIRGINIA, OPPOSE ANY ATTEMPT TO REMOVE MR FREDRICK FROM THE POSITION THAT HE WAS OVERWHELMINGLY ELECTED TO AT THE 2008 REPUBLICAN CONVENTION IN RICHMOND, VA. IF OUR VOTES MEAN NOTHING, WHAT DOES? IT APPEARS THAT OUR GOP HAS FALLEN IN DISARRAY AND WE SUGGEST THAT WE SHOULD DO NOTHING TO HASTEN OUR DEMISE.
WE STRONGLY REQUEST THAT THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE WITHDRAW ALL CHARGES AGAINST CHAIRMAN FREDRICK AND SUPPORT HIM IN HIS DUTIES IN THE UP COMING ELECTION.
OFFICIAL CALL Mass Meeting of Republican Party of Wise County of the Republican Party of Virginia As Chairman of the Republican Party of Wise County, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization of the Republican Party of Virginia and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Ben Boggs, do hereby issue this call for a Mass Meeting to be held at the Wise County Courthouse in Wise, Virginia in the General District Courtroom on Tuesday March 3, 2009, at 7:00PM for the purpose of electing up to 300 Delegates to the State Convention, to be held on May 29, and May 30, 2009 at the Richmond Convention Center in Richmond, Virginia, beginning at 12:00PM for the purposes of a) nominating a Republican candidate for Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General and b) for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the convention. Each unit is entitled to one (1) Delegate Vote
per 250 Republican votes for Governor and President at their
properly come before the mass meeting.
Qualifications for Participation All legal and qualified voters of the Republican Party of Wise County under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia as delegate candidates and in the Mass Meeting. In addition to the foregoing, to be in accord with the principles of the Republican Party, a person otherwise qualified shall not have participated in Virginia in the nomination process of a party other than the Republican Party after March 1, 2004, or in the last five years, whichever is more recent. A single exception to the foregoing prohibition on participation shall be approved for a voter that renounces affiliation with any other party in writing, and who expresses in writing that he/she is in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and intends, at the time of the writing, to support the nominees of the Republican Party in the future (the elements of this sentence shall be referred to as the "disaffiliation statement"). Any voter that utilizes the foregoing exception, and thereafter participates in the nomination process of a party other than the Republican Party, shall not have the benefit of the exception identified in Paragraph 3 thereafter. Registration Fee There will be no registration fee to participate in this mass meeting.
